The newest Kia Sorento now features a more rugged exterior styling, modeled after new Kia models like the K5. The multi-reflector LED headlights are low-beam for a more focused illumination on the road, with Auto Light Control as a standard feature. The standard outside mirrors are power-adjustable and heated to help clear away all the frost on a winter morning in Amsterdam, NY. Available on select trims is a power panoramic, dual-pane sunroof with a power sunshade, as well as full LED headlights and a power tailgate.

Interior

This new SUV is an ideal choice for taking your family on camping trips near new Hartford as well as daily driving, with lots of comfort for any occasion. The new Sorento seats seven passengers with a comfortable 105.3 cubic feet of passenger volume and up to 12.6 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the third row. The third-row seats can recline and fold in easily, freeing up to 45 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the back seats and up to 75.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row.

Base trim levels feature a comfortable cloth seating trim, with genuine, embossed and perforated leather seating available on trims like the SX Prestige. Also available are heated/ventilated front seats and six-passenger seating, with second-row sliding/folding captain's chairs.

Performance

The 2021 Sorento comes with a few different engine options to boost its potential on the road and on the trails. The standard performance under the hood is a 2.5-liter, 191-horsepower four-cylinder engine, which is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine generates 182 pound-feet of torque and features Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) and Idle Stop & Go (ISG) to improve fuel economy. Available is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with CVVT and ISG. This propulsion system kicks up the performance to 281-horsepower and a whopping 311 pound-feet; it also comes standard with eight-speed automatic transmission.

All trims feature front-wheel-drive, but can come available with a torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive. The available AWD uses a transfer case that analyzes road conditions on-demand and adjusts torque output to the wheel axles accordingly. The torque-vectoring also features Snow Mode to give the Kia Sorento the best handling when the roads get slick.

Kia Sorento Hybrid

As an update for 2021, the Kia Sorento now comes available as a commuter-friendly hybrid SUV. The Sorento Hybrid features a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a full parallel hybrid system. These combined systems enable the Sorento Hybrid to travel up to 39 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The system also generates 227-horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
